Frequently Asked Questions
Is there income tax on salaries in the UAE?+
No. The UAE has no personal income tax, so expatriates receive their full gross salary as take-home pay. The only mandatory employee deduction is the 5% GPSSA contribution, which applies to UAE Nationals only.
How is end-of-service gratuity calculated in the UAE?+
Gratuity is based on your last basic salary: 21 days' pay per year for the first five years, then 30 days' pay per year after that. It is calculated on basic salary only — not your total package. Our gratuity calculator handles both resignation and termination cases.
Are all the calculators on UAE Tools Hub free?+
Yes. Every calculator is 100% free with no signup, no login, and no hidden charges. You can use all 24+ tools as many times as you like.
How much is VAT in the UAE?+
Standard VAT in the UAE is 5%. Our VAT calculator lets you add or remove 5% VAT from any amount instantly, which is useful for both businesses and consumers.
How is my DEWA bill calculated in Dubai?+
Your DEWA bill combines electricity and water consumption charges, a fuel surcharge, and municipality housing fees based on your annual rent. Our DEWA calculator estimates your monthly bill from your home size and usage using current tariff rates.
Who qualifies for the UAE Golden Visa?+
The Golden Visa is available to investors, entrepreneurs, highly skilled professionals, outstanding students, and other eligible categories. Our Golden Visa calculator checks your eligibility and shows the requirements and costs for 2026.
Does the UAE have corporate tax?+
Yes. A 9% corporate tax applies to business profits above AED 375,000, with small business relief available for qualifying companies. Our corporate tax calculator estimates your liability, including exemptions.
Can I use these tools in Arabic?+
Yes. UAE Tools Hub is fully bilingual. Every calculator, guide, and result is available in both English and Arabic with a right-to-left layout for Arabic users.
How much can I borrow for a mortgage in the UAE?+
Expats can typically finance up to 80% of a property's value (75% for properties above AED 5 million), and monthly repayments are usually capped at around 50% of your income. Our mortgage calculator estimates your repayments and affordability at 2026 bank rates.
Are the calculators updated for 2026?+
Yes. All calculators reflect the latest 2026 UAE Labour Law, tax rates, DEWA tariffs, and government fee schedules, and are reviewed regularly to stay accurate.
